We recently added a badminton court to our backyard and this gave us an opportunity to search for yet another treadmill that we could fit into the limited space we had. The Precor 9.23 became our top pick not because of its space saving features rather for its toughness and Touch heart rate monitoring system with speed variations of 0.5 to 12 mph. Besides, all reviews we read indicated that this treadmill had a detailed manual, which is always a good thing.
Easy to read instructions, impressive design with little handle bars to the side help in keeping one’s shoulder cozy and comfortable rather than hanging, which you will adore especially if you plan on leisurely walking longer than you jog. Besides, the sturdiness of the frame, its heaviness all help add to the stability.
Noise & Space: 5/5
The Precor 9.23 is definitely not a noisy unit. Our bedroom is connected through an auxiliary exit with the badminton court and I start my workouts frightfully early, while my wife gets up late. Thankfully, she doesn’t wake up complaining of nagging sounds coming from the court. I also like the fact that it doesn’t take up too much space. Now, I am planning to relocate it right in my bedroom. I know it sounds funny, but it makes more sense to me. The dimensions are just perfect to place it diagonally in one corner, something quite necessary for keeping it in the bedroom where space is a premium commodity.
Workout Features: 5/5
Before we decided to go for Precor 9.23, we wanted to make sure that the machine could cater to our diverse requirements. Since I play badminton regularly, I found the Precor’s 9.23 preset programs tailored to my needs. It was fantastic; I was able to regulate my pace of training with the Touch heart rate monitoring feature. It also has hill climb preset program featured on its console, where you can typically adjust your workout pace along with inclination levels. This was of particular interest to my wife who loves a challenging workout.

Motor & Horsepower: 5/5
The treadmill 9.23 from Precor has a 3.0 HP continuous duty motor, which makes it unique. We didn’t notice this while buying, but we believe the motor’s immense power and output gives the treadmill a certain degree of durability. And not to forget, its Touch heart rate monitoring speed of .5- 12 mph provides for a versatile range of difficulty.
Ease of Use: 5/5
A word of advice, don’t request the company guys to have it installed. This costs an extra $200, which you can save by carefully reading the instruction manual and watching a few videos. We took a look at the video of Precor 9.23 on YouTube, where they have clearly detailed the assembly instructions, and then read through the instructions manual to confirm. At the end of the day, we were able to assemble the unit in under 1 hour without any hiccups.
Running Belt & Deck: 5/5
We are truly impressed with the push off surface at the back. It has a cushion of considerable size, which makes it easy to transfer the load between the two legs, and that for us is what makes the 9.23 model from Precor unbeatable. This coupled with the deck of one inch, makes for many joyful sessions.
For folks with joint pain, treadmills are a skeptical buy at best but quench all such doubts as the Precor 9.23 treadmill offers additional cushioning to the front and back helping reduce impact on the joints and keeping your knee region injury free.
Extra Features: 5/5
Technologically speaking, the Precor 9.23 is way ahead of others. Patented Ground Effects Impact Control Technology is an innovative technology. It’s not just about the reduction of joint pains, but also about prolonging workout sessions without feeling too wasted at the end of it. Personally, I was able to reach my office fresh, after working out strenuously in the morning. Impact Control Tech definitely works wonders!
